BALTIMORE, MD – The eighth-ranked Johns Hopkins baseball team has been selected to host an NCAA Tournament Super Regional for the fourth time in program history, announced by the association Monday. The two-team super regional includes Hopkins and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps (CMS), with games to be played from May 22-23 at Babb Field at Stromberg Stadium.
The Blue Jays (36-9) earned the right to host the NCAA Super Regional after securing the program's ninth regional title with a convincing 7-3 victory over Pomona-Pitzer. This marks the fifth time Hopkins has appeared in the NCAA Super Regional dating back to 2019, when the new regional format began, with the Blue Jays holding a 6-3 record in super regional games.
Hopkins is joined by the 17
th-ranked Stags (34-13), who won the program's second – and back-to-back – NCAA Regional title after overcoming a three-run deficit to defeat 20
th-ranked Kean 6-3 in the Medford Regional Championship game.
Series History
Friday's game will be the first-ever meeting between Hopkins and CMS.
Hopkins-CMS will open the Super Regional Friday, May 22 at 12 PM. Both teams will then face off in Game 2 Saturday at 11 AM in an elimination game, with a third game to follow, if necessary.
