The Blue Jay men won seven events to earn a seventh straight Centennial Conference Outdoor Track & Field Championship on Sunday afternoon.
Mickey Van Gieson won three gold medals while
Conrad Say,
Kevin Sommer and
Ahmed Elmogi all took home two golds to lead the Jays to 217 points and a 30-point victory over second-place Dickinson.

Bobby Van Allen said. "Dickinson put up such a tremendous battle that we really needed every guy to come through." Van Allen added that he was proud of the support and resilience the team showed today and he is excited for the next few weeks leading up to NCAA's.

Van Gieson won gold in three of the four events he competed in, earning an individual gold in the 400 and also bringing home gold as a member of the 4x100 and 4x400 relay teams. In the 400, Van Gieson ran away with the gold, crossing the finish line in 48.74 seconds. The time ranks Van Gieson third in program history behind
Bob Wilson (1982) and
Jesse Poore (2017). In the 4x400, Van Gieson anchored the quartet who finished with a time of 3:22.33 to edge Ursinus by .61 seconds. He ran the second leg of the gold medal winning 4x100 relay who finished with a time of 42.45 to beat Ursinus by over a full second.

Say ran the anchor leg of the 4x100 to earn his first Centennial medal of the day and then added a second with an individual victory in the 100. Say ran an easy PR time of 10.77 seconds, holding off Dickinson's Nick Balenzano by .07 seconds. Say's time is the sixth-best in program history.

Sommer added both an individual medal and a relay medal to the tally for the Blue Jays. Sommer crushed his PR in the 110m hurdles, winning the race with a time of 15.39. His mark is good for sixth-best in program history. Sommer was also a member of the 4x400 relay team with Van Gieson, Elmogi and
Elias Boussouf, running the second leg.

Elmogi took home two gold medals as a freshman with a pair of relay performances. Elmogi ran the third leg of the 4x400 and the opening leg of the 4x100. Elmogi added a bronze medal in the 200 with a time of 22.51.

Other Notable Performances:

Owen Bianchi was outstanding in the field events for the Blue Jays, taking home a pair of medals including a gold medal in the triple jump. The Blue Jays took all three medal spots in the event with Bianchi (13.46m),
Timothy Carlson (13.10m) and
Justin Canedy (13.05m) defeating the competition. Bianchi took home silver in the long jump with a leap of 6.83m.

Jared Pangallozzi led a trio of Blue Jays to medal in the 5,000m. Pangallozzi cruised to another Centennial Conference medal with a winning time of 14:46.44, nearly 13 seconds ahead of teammate
Alex Glavin.
Josh Derrick rounded out the trio with a time of 15:00.33
• Carlson brought home a pair of silver medals for his efforts in the triple jump and the pole vault. Carlson finished behind Bianchi with a jump of 13.10m and finished second in the pole vault with a mark of 3.95m.
• The Jays took home multiple medals in the distance races with
Will Howe (10,000) and
Matt Kleiman (1,500) earning silver medals for their efforts. Howe finished the 10K in 33:34.97 and Kleiman used a strong late kick to finish in 4:01.65, just 0.11 seconds behind the winner. Â

Alex Dixon added another silver medal to the mix, finishing the 800 in 1:56.66, just 0.34 seconds behind the winner.
• Adding to his gold medal as a member of the 4x400 relay team, Boussouf picked up a silver medal in the 400m hurdles. Boussouf crossed the finish line in 54.81, a new PR and the sixth-best time in program history. Boussouf also took third in the 110m hurdles with a time of 15.56.

Jonas Larson earned his first career Centennial medal with a bronze in the steeplechase. The freshman finished just under 10 minutes with a time of 9:59.59. Â
