« Four-year standout on the Blue Jay swimming team (1999-2003)
« Helped Johns Hopkins to three straight top five finishes at the NCAA Championships as Hopkins placed third, second and second at the NCAAs when he competed.
« Runner-up finishes at the NCAA Championships in 2002 and 2003 were the highest finishes for JHU since 1980 and 1981 (also 2nd those years).
« Maxed out on All-America honors with 21 in the three years he competed at the NCAAs. The maximum number of events an individual can compete in at the NCAAs in any one year is seven (individual and relay events combined).
« Twenty-one All-America honors are tied for ninth most in JHU history. Ranked sixth when he graduated.
« Helped seven relay teams to top three finishes at the NCAAs, including six that finished as runner-up.
« Member of three school-record relay teams when he graduated.
« 2003 NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship recipient.
« First Team CoSIDA Academic All-American as a senior and Second Team as a junior. One of just four men's swimmers in school history to earn Academic All-America honors at least twice.
« Earned the Dr. William Howard Award as a senior. The Howard Award is presented to the senior athlete who has excelled both as a scholar and athlete (in essence, this is the top scholar-athlete in the senior class).
