A standout two-sport athlete at a time when women's sports began to gain nation recognition at Johns Hopkins, Julie Siegrist excelled in both lacrosse and field hockey for the Blue Jays.

A standout defender for the Blue Jay lacrosse team, Siegrist earned First Team All-America honors as a junior and senior and, at the time, was just the second player in school history to twice earn First Team All-America recognition.

Siegrist helped lead Johns Hopkins to four straight appearances in the NCAA Tournament and a four-year record of 50-16. She led the 1988 team to the NCAA Semifinals.

The team success followed Siegrist in field hockey as well as the Blue Jays posted a four-year record of 43-18-3 and earned three trips to the Middle Atlantic Conference Playoffs during her career.

Siegrist earned First Team All-Region and First Team All-MAC as a senior, when she led the team in scoring with nine goals and four assists for 22 points. She concluded her career ranked fifth all-time at Johns Hopkins in goals scored (18).
